Cocktails in Philly

Charlie Was a Sinner and The Franklin Bar

Just spent two days in Philadelphia eating and drinking, and I have to say, it was pretty darn good! We went to Charlie Was a Sinner first and got treated extremely well by Mike, the bartender. Cocktails were on point (Penicillin and Last word) and the food was delicious! All small plates, meant to be shared, and VEGAN! Who would have thought? Cool cocktail bar with vegan small plates! Atmosphere was just perfect (at least for me), the kind of place you could just stay at for hours. Dim lit, chill music, and the black and white movie playing across the wall was a very cool touch. We actually went back here twice in two nights, that's how much we liked it.

Unfortunately I didn't take any better pictures there, but just trust me when I say it's worth a visit if you're in Philly.

The Franklin Bar was a true speakeasy, would've missed it if it wasn't for the greeter stepping out as if he knew we were looking for them. Inside was somewhat similar to Death & Co in New York, very dark but bustling with people around cocktail tables enjoying various libations. Here I had one of their signature cocktails, "Drinking with skeletons" if I remember correctly. Whiskey something with cacao and vanilla...it was getting late, don't remember exactly if you know what I mean ;)
