Don't Give Up the Ship
Can you handle this drink? It's not a crowd pleaser at all....BUT if you like stirred, boozy, dark and bitter cocktails - Then you will most likely enjoy "Don't give up the ship". You can thank me later. It's a vintage cocktail found in the 1941 book "Cocktail Guide and Ladies Companion" by Crosby Gaige.
Don't give up the ship
1 dash Orange bitters
1/2 oz (15ml) Orange Liqueur
1/2 oz (15ml) Sweet vermouth
1/2 oz (15ml) Fernet
1 1/2 oz (45ml) Gin
Stir to perfection and serve in a coupe. Garnish with a huge orange twist. Peace.
